FCA and FCC: What Are They and What’s the Difference?

FCA and FCC: What Are They and What’s the Difference?

, by Erika Kirpu, 4 min reading time

If you’ve heard about Future Champions Academy (FCA) and Future Champions Camp (FCC), you might be wondering — what’s the difference between the two?

Both share the same mission: to help fencers around the world be the best version of themselves. Yet, they serve this mission in different ways.

Let’s break it down.

Future Champions Camp (FCC):

The origin and the global movement

FCC was the starting point — a project created by four Olympic fencers: Enrico Garozzo, Daniele Garozzo, Erika Kirpu, and Alice Volpi.
It began with a simple idea: to organize fencing camps where young athletes could train directly with world-class champions and coaches.

Since its foundation in 2018, FCC has become one of the most recognized fencing camp series in the world.
Today, we host around 30 events every year across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas — giving young fencers from all countries the chance to experience top-level training in an inspiring, international environment.

FCC is:

  • Short-term, intensive training experiences (usually 4–7 days).

  • Focused on technical, tactical, and physical development.

  • Open to athletes of all ages and levels.

  • A place to meet, learn, and grow — surrounded by champions.

And even more — FCC is fully flexible.
We can create custom fencing experiences for clubs, national teams, schools, or private groups — for any purpose and in any part of the world.
From high-performance preparation camps to development workshops or special training events, FCC brings world-class fencing wherever it’s needed.

Future Champions Academy (FCA):

The home base in Milan

After years of running international camps, the founders wanted to create something permanent — a place where fencers could grow not just for a week, but throughout the whole season.
That dream came true in 2024, when we officially opened the Future Champions Academy in Milan, Italy.

FCA is a year-round hub for fencing excellence — a place where athletes can come for long-term or short-term training, depending on their goals.
Some join the academy for a full season; others come for a few weeks or months to prepare for major competitions or to experience the FCA environment first-hand.

Our programs include:

  • Top Level Academy: full-time professional training for athletes aiming at international results.

  • Dual Career Program: for student-athletes combining fencing with studies at partner schools and universities in Milan.

  • Club: a welcoming environment for fencers of all levels who want to train regularly in a high-quality setting.

What makes FCA unique is its integrated system: fencing coaches work in close connection with physical trainers, a mental coach, and a physiotherapist.
Each athlete follows a personalized development plan, built around their needs, competition schedule, and recovery — creating a complete environment for growth, performance, and balance.

FCA or FCC — which one is for you?

It depends on your goals and where you are in your journey.
If you’re looking for a short, high-intensity experience that will push you to the next level — join one of our Future Champions Camps.
If you’re ready to take your fencing and personal development to a long-term professional path, or spend some focused weeks training in Milan — the Future Champions Academy is the place for you.

And for many athletes, it’s not “FCA or FCC” — it’s both.
Many young fencers start with FCC camps, then continue their growth at FCA — turning short-term inspiration into long-term success.

One mission, two paths

FCA and FCC share one heart and one vision:
to help athletes grow in sport and in life.

Whether you meet us for a few days at a camp or for an entire season in Milan — you’re part of the same community.
A community that believes in growth, ambition, and friendship.

Because in the end, the goal is always the same:
to Be the Best You.
